Hanzi Garden 漢字花園
Snakes and ladders, regrown as a Mandarin classroom game. Plant your own characters, roll the dice, climb the vines — and watch out for hungry caterpillars.
How big is the garden?
Choose how many squares the board has. A short game for a warm-up, a long one for a whole lesson.
Who is playing?
Everyone picks a veggie friend from the Speech.gift garden.
What grows in the garden?
Vines lift you up. Caterpillars drag you down. Multiplier squares supercharge your roll. Emotion squares ask for a little performance.
Plant your characters
Type or paste the hanzi for this lesson — one per line, or separated by spaces or commas. Words of more than one character are fine. Give at least as many as there are squares; if you give more, the board picks at random, so the same word list stays fresh every game.
